As a 6'1'; tall person, I;ve discovered a few things. Avoid vertical stripes as they make you look even taller. Taller looking mostly equates to intimidating, so avoid the verticals. Horizontals make you look wider for your height, and thus, less intimidating. As an alternative, solid darker colors are better than brighter colors while avoiding vertical lines. Hair styles for men?

Hi im a 16 year old guy with really fine blond hair. My hair has never been very thick. As a kid I had a bull cut that was cute for a while but by the time 5th grade came around I was sick of it and so I got something a little longer than a buzz cut. I've pretty much kept it that way till now and i usually get a cut when its nearing my eyes. I grew it out quite a bit past my eyes only one time. I liked it but there were some problems. one is that it got greasy after a day (I shower every day but still). After a shower it would always curl up, on the ends. This was ok and I could kinda make it look good, but I wanted to find a way to make it look good when it was straight down. But the only way it was ever straight down was when it was greasy. Also, I had a bunch of ugly stuff kinda coming out in the back from hair on my upper neck. Should I have cut that a couple times?
I wanna give this another try, but I want to do it w/ some style.Hair styles for men?

What style works for mid/long wavy brown hair on a man?
I'm growing my hair out and its now a mid length and I'm starting to wonder what to do with it and how to get it to look good. The problem is its not curly and its not straight, so it tends to just end up messy and with LOADS of volume. Can anyone suggest good styles for this type of hair?
I quite like some of the messy indie type styles, but don't know how you get it.

If you can find a beauty supply store near your home, go in and talk to the people that work there. They usually give pretty good recommendations. Redken for men has some pretty good stuff too. And a lot of people will tell you Bed Head stuff. Good luck son! Try them out first if you can. Hair products can be pricey!!

I am a man and i have short hair what is a good style for me? how to i get that style?
it depend on u face shape n tha look u want. i do ethnic male hair n all women outside work. but if u jus want a nice clean look get an EVEN fade not too high. u can go wit a short spike look depend how long u fade is n u ethnicty.........goodluck im sure u will look cute!
What kind of (men's) hair product am I looking for to give it a different style?
So my hair is wavy, and curly. It's not so curly that it scrunches up into little circles but it's curly none the less. I've tried many types of hair gels and it usually just separates the hair and makes it really curly. What I really want to do is make it look like all one wave of hair, or multiple waves of hair.. not large separate curled strands. And it always looks dark and wet. What should I use?

I'm asking you guys because every time my hubby goes to get a haircut they give him a really stupid looking one. It always makes his head look bigger and they'll cut it short but give him this longer fringe in the front, I don't know if they're trying to hide the receding hairline (it's still in the early stages, it's not bad by any means) and to me it just looks plain ridiculous.
So there it is. He has straight, dark hair. Thinner hair, but not too thin. Early stages of receding hairline. LARGE head. He wears a mustache and a goatee/beard thingy. He has a weaker type chin, so the goatee/beard thingy balances out the rest of his face.

I was wondering if anybody can help me with this? I have a recedig hairline at the temples. I like to wear my hair short, nearly spiked. Unfortunately it doesn't look as good with the recession. A better hair style for a balding man?
Unfortunately for him my housemate is losing his hair and my girlfriend reckons he鈥檇 look better with a different hairstyle. He鈥檚 only 26 and at the moment he kind of spikes it up on top the same way he always has since school. The trouble is it kind of accentuates the fact that it鈥檚 thinning and top of that his hair is fairly fine and light anyway so it isn鈥檛 a good look.
How should I broach the subject of a better hairstyle with him?

When I was younger, I liked variety. Full bush if you've been apart, whoa. Fully shaved surprise, whoa. Landing strip or hair only above, cool. Full bush isn't ideal for oral though. Hair above only was (and is) my favourite.
Now that I have kids ... I gotta say the full shave wierds me out a little bit. I prefer my women to look post-pubescent, you know? The shaved 'area' with hair above makes you look both like you've passed puberty AND affords easy smooth access where needed. win-win.

Alright, so I've had fairly long hair for the past 3 years. Actually it's not that long anymore, but it is a bit long, and I'm looking at just getting it all cut off. when it comes to rehearsals, i agree with the others about just getting it out of the face. i also agree about the performance side of it as well. i just thought i would recommend a few products for you hair, come performance time.
got2be glued- this will hold your hair whatever way you want it, for as long as you want to. also try the hair spray along with it.
DON'T USE GEL. it mixes with your perspiration and gets in your eye's. it stings bad.also gel doesn't hold its look when exercising heavily. some wax based products work much better. when in your hair they don't get messed up nearly as much by perspiration or movement.I was wondering how do men and boys prepare and style their hair for ballet rehersals?

My sister-in-law works in a salon and did my brother's hair using a perming solution to keep it straight. Just have to sit and comb your hair for a while til it settles. But it works!!!!

Ideas for Men's Hair Styles?
I am a man with medium to thin dirty blond hair (the closest representation of it would be something along the lines of Owen Wilson) and as of now I am not sure where to go with it. I was thinking of using some form of dying (not drastically changing the color of course) or a highlighting kit, but not sure how to style or change it, any suggestions?Ideas for Men's Hair Styles?

What style of clothing and hair is currently in for men? Well teenage males?
I'm usually not one for paying attention to the ';trends'; and styles, but I want a change just to see how it works. I'll run over my stats.

Yes its possible just go old school and get an stove top straightening comb and buy some lard in the vegetable or oil section and section your hair off and put a dime size on the section and comb thorough with a regular comb and then straighten your hair.When you are done with you whole head you can then get scalp braids and they will last long.
p.s. Lard is water resistant so you don't have to worry about your hair frizzing back up into your Afro stage

Cheap kind won't work, and will fry your hair. They get pretty expensive, but if you're serious about it, then it's worth it. Go to www.folica.com and look at their..i just bought the ';superstar'; from www.overstock.com and it's good!

You need special shampoo,conditioner and hot oil treatments twice a month to be able to maintain its luster and shine....and strighted hair doesnt look natural at all.,,, what i would advise you is to have your hair styled by a professional. i believe there is an appropriate hairstyle for every type of hair.

Depends on the girl, and it also depends on your personal sense of style. Using a product on your hair can help control the curls a bit, but you can use product and make it appear more natural. If you have shorter curly hair, try putting a small but of moose or gel ( if your hair stands up well on it's own, use gel. if you need more volume, use moose) in you hair and working through well. use a blowdryer and work with the curls. it will give you a very natural look. if you have more questions, feel free to IM me or e-mail me. Get a haircut, and, as I do, ';warn'; (in a humorous sort of way - yet straightforwardly) your barber or hair stylist, whichever you like to call him, that your elbow is strategically located as you sit in his chair, and, as I say, ';If I EVER catch you covering my baldness, I'm going to plant my strategically located elbow in your vulnerably located 'soft tissue' in a severe sort of way.'; He learned years ago not to treat me like these vain and insecure men who ';can't handle'; a normal fact of life that has no positive or negative value to it whatsoever, besides what Rogain or whomever thinks of it, and I'll have NO PART of that whatsoever. I'm proud of me, and you should be of you. Be PROUD of your increasing baldness. You've lived a good life to have earned that, no matter how young or old you are. Hair styles for a long face (Men)?
I guess I have a fairly narrow / long face, and was wondering what hairstyles work for that face shape. I am also over 6' tall, which may have some influence on the best style as well.
Currently I just have medium length hair with no sideburns and bangs that cover my eyebrows. I am looking to do a mop style though, and was wondering if those look good on a narrow face.

Medium haircut style for men with thick and wavy hair?
What cut would be best for me? My hair is from short to medium long with thick, wavy and messy looks.
Most of the time I get it trim with shorter back and side, and thin it off to get texture.

I am a girl and my hair is pretty long and it is really really thick.

Get your hair evend out and get it trimmed and thinned out, and add layers. The layers will add texture without over doing it. But make sure they are long subtle layers. Call your stylist and ask for a style change consultation. This should free of charge. You should bring any pictures you want your stylist input on and they should be able to tell you rather a cut will work with your facial shape and hair. If you don't have a regular stylist, that could be part of the problem with your hair.

Most of the time I get it trim with shorter back and side, and thin it off to get texture.

Go to a Sally's Beauty Supply or any beauty supply store in your area. They usually sell magazines with hairstyles and hair designs for men and women.

You should just shave your hair.. wait until you start the chemotherapy tho.. because not everyone's hair falls out.. if you notice that it does, then just shave it.. thats the best one... i have a family member that was getting chemo and she shaved the last few hairs she had.. Try what we call a No2, or a No1 (size of the clipper guard used. No 2 is really short, and a No 1 is really just a stubbly shadow.
These cuts are popular with the 18-50's in the UK. I even know a couple of people who have had their heads shaved, just for the style.
As the style takes friends and relations a couple of weeks to get used to, then if you decide to do it, the sooner the better and let them get used to your new look. (You could try a digital modification - digimod - on a recent photo to see how you would look).
(At 60, I had a No 2 - my hair was shoulder length before. People in the local shops and pubs didn't even recognised me. Now they say I look 10 years younger).
If this sounds a bit drastic, then make sure you will lose your hair before you take this step.
Remember the 'before and after' photo's. You can have a laugh with your grandchildren.

What is a good hair style for balding men?
i am a 20 year old guy who is losing hair on the top of the head and crown. i use get a buzz cut but i have grown it out for about 9 months now. it is currently kind of long and dont like it because you can see my scalp when the wind blows it. and it also hasnt been cut since May 2009, so it is starting to get into my eyes. so i think it is time to cut it but would like something other than a buzz cut. the buzz cut use to look ok to me but others use to make negative comments, thinking i look better with longer hair. i hate the fact that i am losing my hair so i would like a hair cut that will make it look like i have not lost anything or something close. another thing is that my hair on the top is somewhat thin so i think they might not be anything i can do. so if anyone has suggestion i really appreciate it.What is a good hair style for balding men?

I know that short hair is always popular with guys, but the guys where I live seem to wear the same hairstyles that guys wore in the 1990s. They wear spiky hair, or close cropped hair that combs down on top, with the top piece sticking up. I see most guys on tv have their hair very 1970s styled, longer and shaggy. I wear mine parted, and it is past the bottom of my ears in front, and longer in back. It flips and curls at the ends, and would be fine except it is humid here and the top of my hair is getting thin. I want to cut it short and wear it messy to cover up the thinness on top, but I wore that haircut in 2002. Yeah I'm an ';older'; man, meaning mid 20s. I'm 26, so maybe closer to late 20s now sadly. I know most men my age go for the really short styles or bald/buzz cut but I honestly don't like that style. I agree its easier to take care of and looks ';cleaner'; but the longer hair is my thing. I have very thin hair however and while if I grew it a bit longer I could pull off the scene/emo guy look well I think I don't want to go that extreme because of my age and I'm not in a band or anything.
